The studio

Marlow & Ash is a four-person studio in Peckham, south London. We make stoneware, linen and oak objects in runs small enough that every piece passes through the same pair of hands.
How it started
In 2019 we bought a second-hand kiln and a sack of iron-rich clay, and spent a year testing glazes in a shared workshop. The first collection was twelve vases. Most of them cracked. The ones that survived are still in use.
How we work
Clay is thrown and glazed on site. Linen is woven by a mill in Lancashire that has been running since 1912. Oak comes from storm-felled trees within a day's drive of the studio, milled and dried before it reaches us.
We do not run seasonal collections. An object stays in the range while the material and the maker are right, and is repaired rather than replaced when it wears.
Visiting
The studio is open by appointment on Thursdays and Fridays. Write to studio@marlowandash.com and we will send the address and a time.
