Built around the table

Three collections share the same few materials: ash-glazed stoneware, undyed linen and pale oak. Nothing is seasonal; everything is repairable.

We make fewer things, and keep them longer.

The studio

We make fewer things, and keep them longer.

Marlow & Ash began in 2019 with one glaze recipe and a second-hand kiln. The studio is still four people, still mixing glaze by hand. Every object leaves with a maker's mark and a repair note.

Inside the studio

Made by hand

Each piece is thrown, woven or turned in the studio. Small variations in glaze and grain are part of the object, not a defect.

Small runs

We produce in batches of forty to eighty. When a run sells out, it returns only when the material and the maker are right.

Repaired, not replaced

Chips, loose cord and worn linen can be repaired by the studio. Write to us with a photograph and we will quote the work.
