Care & repair
Last updated November 5, 2026
These objects are meant to be used. Most marks will settle into the material; a few need a little attention.
Stoneware
Wash by hand or in a dishwasher on a normal cycle. Avoid thermal shock — do not move a hot dish straight into cold water. Unglazed rims will darken slightly with oil over time; this is normal.
Linen
Machine wash at 40°C with a mild detergent. Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Line dry or tumble on low; the weave will soften with each wash. Expect a small amount of shrinkage on the first wash.
Oak
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Re-oil once a year with a hard wax oil. Do not leave standing water on the surface.
Repairs
We re-cord stools, replace lamp shades and sockets, and re-oil oak. Send a photograph to studio@marlowandash.com and we will quote the work before anything is shipped.
